Sportsfest

British Paralympic Association – ParalympicsGB Sport Fest programmes.

Fresh from great public acclaim and press coverage from the highly successful 2012 Paralympic Games, the BPA were keen to take quick advantage of the huge interest in Paralympic sports and engage with potential new participants through their Parasport initiative. Several ParalympicsGB Sports Fest events were planned at regional sports parks to give disabled people the chance try Paralympic sport and meet medal winners from the London games. Having seen the Paralympic Games daily programmes that the Legacy team had been involved in creating, LSM was commissioned to produce four Sports Fest programmes to inspire and inform those looking to try out any of the 23 individual Paralympic sports on show. www.paralympics.org.uk/sportsfest

With four events planned around the UK, the challenge was to come up with cost-effective print solution whilst still providing a bespoke programme for each event, detailing the exhibition floor plan, seminar programme and medallists’ appearances. The creative solution that the Legacy team provided was to create a common core section to all four publications, celebrating the glorious achievements of the ParalympicsGB team, combined with any easy to comprehend guide to each of the 23 sports. The specific event information for each ParalympicsGB Sports Fest was all contained in a handy fold-out cover, making the exhibition plan and sessions programme readily accessible for the visitor.

With experience gained from creating numerous publications for the Paralympic Games, the client was confident Legacy Sport Media would make the programme clear and accessible to their specialist client group and employ an accurate yet sensitive language style.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the Sport Fest programme. They all turned up at the venue on time and they look great! Everyone at the BPA is very pleased and impressed with the quality.”
